THE STORY OF GLORIA

About Gloria!

I'm a medical speech-language pathologist and the founder of Form Speech and Swallowing, a private practice focused on delivering specialized care for adults with communication, swallowing, voice, and cognitive disorders. My clinical work is grounded in medical science, tailored intervention, and results-oriented planning.

I launched Form with a clear purpose: to provide high-skill, multilingual services to adult clients seeking individualized therapy that goes beyond generalist approaches. My practice reflects years of experience across complex medical settings, and a strong belief in precision, clarity, and measurable outcomes.

What Makes My Work Unique

Guided by Heart | Grounded on Science | Focused on You

Being multilingual has helped me serve clients and families in ways that are not just linguistically accurate, but culturally respectful and aligned with their values.

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I take time to listen and build strong relationships, because I know real change happens when therapy is collaborative. Every treatment plan I create is evidence-based, tailored, and focused on outcomes that actually matter to you.

I'm here to support you with compassion, honesty, and purpose.

My Clinical Background

I earned my Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, one of the top programs in the nation. I'm a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in the state of Washington.

Over the years, I've worked across the full spectrum of medical care:

  • Acute hospital settings - working with patients in critical stages of recovery

  • Inpatient rehabilitation - supporting intensive recovery and skill rebuilding

  • Specialized outpatient clinics - including head and neck, laryngology, and neurodegenerative disorders

  • Palliative care - providing comfort-focused communication and swallowing support

These experiences have shaped not just my clinical skills - but my understanding of the cultural, emotional, and practical realities that come with every diagnosis.

Life Beyond the Clinic

When I'm not working with clients, I'm an explorer at heart: from discovering what's new at Costco to traveling abroad, from enjoying local eats to trying bold new flavors, from Pilates to karaoke, pottery to culinary exploration. I value creativity, connection, and quality time, and I bring that same curiosity, balance, and joy into the work I do with others.
